Purchasing Hosting Package

  1. You should only follow the below directions if you DO Have a domain name ALREADY that is active. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
  1. Hosting is the storage space for your website. I recommend the following website for web hosting. They are affordable and reliable: https://www.thcservers.com/portal/aff.php?aff=190
  1. When you get to the website, hover over “Web Hosting” on the navigation menu. Select “Web Hosting” and scroll down on the page.
  1. You will see four packages. Since you have one account, I recommend you select the “Geek” Account. Scroll to the bottom of the “Geek” column, and select “Buy Now.” It is $1.95 per month. I suggest paying for the full year, which is about $23.40 + taxes.
  1. On the “Choose a Domain” page, you have a few options so select only ONE depending on your preference:

Option 1:  “Transfer your domain from another registrar” – this is the option you select if you want to move your domain name over from your current provider to this new one..I recommend this option if you want to have your domain name and hosting on the same account.

  • Type the domain name in the box then click the blue transfer button…the system will search for your domain name to ensure its eligible to be moved
  • Once it’s done searching, you’ll see a green box tell you that the domain is eligible for transfer
  • Click “Continue”
  • Select the billing cycle you prefer.  I recommend paying annually because it is cheaper than month to month. It’s around $23.40 per year.
  • Click continue
  • Get your EPP CODE from your current domain name provider – reach out to their support team to get this information
  • On this next page, enter in the EPP code you got from your current provider
  • Press the blue “Continue” button
  • Follow directions on page to finish checkout process
  • Once your payment has been completed, you will receive two emails with your new account information and control panel logins. The second email takes a bit of time.
  • You will need to forward the emails to us at [email protected], with a subject line “YourBusinessNameGoesHere Website Hosting”. We will need this information in order to log into your hosting platform and design your website.

OR

OPTION 2:  “I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers” – this option is ideal if you want to keep your hosting and domain name providers separate. For example, if you already have your domain name with a provider like namecheap/go daddy and you want to keep it there and just point your domain name to this new hosting account.

  • When you circle next to this option, type your domain name in the box and click “Use”
  • You will be redirected to the next page where you can select billing
  • Select the billing cycle you prefer.  I recommend paying annually because it is cheaper than month to month. It’s around $23.40 per year.
  • Press “Continue”
  • You will be redirected to the checkout page
  • Click the green “checkout” button
  • Fill in the form asking for your information
  • In the payment method section, check the payment option that you prefer (Paypal is typically the safest)
  • When done click the blue “Complete order” button
  • It will take a few hours possibly for the order to process so do not try to pay again if you do not see the status change right away; in a few hours you should get some email confirmations from them
  • Once your payment has been completed, you will receive two emails with your new account information and control panel logins. The second email takes a bit of time.
  • You will need to forward the emails to us at [email protected], with a subject line “YourBusinessNameGoesHere Website Hosting”. We will need this information in order to log into your hosting platform and design your website.

*Please note that we will need a login to the website that you use for your existing domain name so we can point it to the website. If you do not wish to provide a login, that is okay. You will be responsible for pointing your domain name to your new hosting server.
